    Supporting people with learning disabilities

    Greenwich Mencap are currently running a course starting on Monday 29 February for parents/carers of children 0-5 with suspected disability/learning/global development delay.  The course is focused on Early Positive Approaches and is a 7 session course.  Topics include sleep management, communication and challenging behaviour in regards to triggers and how to effectively manage behaviour.  For more information email antonia@greenwichmencap.org.uk

    TRANSITION PATHWAYS

    If you are a parent or carer with a young person with a Statement of Special Education Needs (SEN) you will be supporting them in their transition into adulthood.  Transition for children with SEN starts in year 9 and Pathways will be supporting you and your child at this important time.  There will be a named Personal Adviser allocated to every young person with a statement in Essex who will help them develop a Transition Plan which reflects their hopes, dreams and aspirations as well as the support required to achieve their goals.
